The Alviela, stage to countless episodes of pollution, has stood out for its ecological and social resilience, and for its resilient communities who, to this day, continue to celebrate the richness of natural heritage and advocate for the protection of biodiversity and the ecosystem services of the Alviela basin.
Conversations around the stories and experiences of the participants in this event flow toward the past, honoring the memories of people and the river, while also envisioning a resilient future and imagining sustainable scenarios.

O Programa Rios Livres tem como missão promover, proteger e restaurar os rios ibéricos em prol das pessoas e da natureza. Defende rios livres e em bom estado ecológico, mobilizando os cidadãos para a proteção e valorização das paisagens, ecossistemas e populações ribeirinhas. Defende ainda a não construção de barragens desnecessárias, promove a necessidade de remoção de barreiras obsoletas prejudiciais aos ecossistemas, apoia a constituição e as ações de movimentos em defesa das nossas bacias hidrográficas, e luta pela melhoria e pelo cumprimento da legislação no âmbito dos recursos hídricos.
